Memories of Lee Greenstreet

Hi Jo,

I am very sorry to hear the news about Lee. He will go down as one of my all time favorite people. What a breath of fresh air he was! I remember when the time for Hank and I had come to go back home to Tahoe after our hunting or fishing trip was over. We would ask Lee for the bill to our room. Lee would just laugh and say well you know what? Some big guy with a red suit came over and took care of the bill. We were never able to make him take the money. That is just the way Lee was, always giving. I have nothing but pleasant memories of our times there. Keep in touch and if you have more pictures please send them. One of you and Lee would be very nice.

I stayed at Denio Juntion Motel many times from the time Lee and his family purchased the place. We hunted the mountains behind Denio for Chuckar and had many great times at the place. We flew in many times and had to run the Jack Rabbits off the runway. What a great guy!

Hello my name is Jeff Lindley. I worked with Lee Greenstreet for a number of years at Denio Junction. He was a really good man. I saw him do alot of things for alot of people. He helped out alot of people. More than likely I filled your plane with gas there when i was a kid. I was there in the late 70s and 80s. Glad someone remembers Denio Junction.

The bog is a famous hot spring not far away. Lee Greenstreet, the motel owner may loan you an old pickup. Real neat little place.

Hunted chukars and fished Lake (sh.. can't remember the name). Lee Greenstreet once owned the store/motel/gas/cafe. Where is he now? Lots of wonderful memories of Denio Junct. Used to fly in and Lee would lend us an ol' pickup truck, stay for a few days. Great time!

Lenny Stelly and others who knew Lee, please contact me. I would love to document more stories of Lee. There are a gzillion great ones. Lee didn't want a memorial, but it would be such a shame to forget the wonderful contribution he made. Lee's whole life was about taking care of the folks who came through. You were his friends! Sadly, the junction is once again closed. It sure has changed.
