Lee Greenstreet, Denio Junction, Nevada
Lee Greenstreet, Nov. 17, 1934 - March 4, 2001, 66, of Denio Junction, Nevada, died March 4, 2001, in Winnemucca, Nevada, where he had resided since January. In Accordance with his wishes, no memorial services were conducted.
Born Nov. 17, 1934, Lee was a native of Drumright, Oklahoma and grew up in Payette, Idaho. Lee was raised in Payette and was a three year letterman on various Payette High School teams. He was involved in many activities in the Payette area before relocating to Eugene, Oregon in 1953. There, Lee Greenstreet worked for Zip-O-Log Veneer for 20 years, retiring from that employment 20 years later as General Manager.
In 1974, Lee and partners bought the Denio Junction Café and Bar at Denio, Nev. Lee was the General Manager and Active Owner of Denio Junction until ill health forced his retirement in 1998.
A generous friend to many, people from all over fondly remember Lee's many acts of kindness, along with tips about the best fishing spots, where to find big horn sheep, deer and chukars.
For many, vacations in Denio Junction were a well-anticipated an annual event. Year after year, families would arrive to enjoy barbecues, spaghetti feeds, dances, mud volleyball or Fourth of July fireworks. Lee was overwhelmingly generous with his friends and will be greatly missed.
Surviving Lee is one son, Kevin Lee Greenstreet of Reno, Nevada.; stepdaughters, Kimberly Kubalek of Nashville, Tennessee and Kelley Kubalek Ferrera of Portland, Oregon; grandson, Destin Greenstreet of Eugene, Oregon; stepgrandsons, Joshua and Lucas Ferrera of Portland, Oregon; great-granddaughter, Jaden Lee Greenstreet of Eugene, Oregon; brother, Robert "Bob" Greenstreet of Mesquite, Nevada, and best friend, Jo Graham Greenstreet of Denio, Nevada.
